This blog has been created for the Cybercultures: Theory students in the Cultural Studies Department at Columbia College Chicago. Others are welcome to post here, as long as the post relates to the study of cyberculture/s.

Course description: This seminar course explores cyberspace, the most powerful and frequently inhabited site within contemporary culture. Students will explore specific themes such as, identity, community, bodies, virtuality, and sexuality through the lens of post-structuralist, postmodern, cyberfeminist, cyborg, and digital culture theories. Readings, discussions, research, writing, and a cyber-research project will help students gain a greater understanding of cyberspace, its culture, and the relationships that exist between machines and humans, as well as those between society and technology.
